Introduction

This is the website of the Shanghai Tuscan Lodge, No 1027, under the jurisdiction of the United Grand Lodge of England. Our members enjoy being Freemasons and are pleased to take this opportunity to explain about Freemasonry in general and our Shanghai Tuscan Lodge in particular.

The Shanghai Tuscan Lodge has a long and interesting history, since being formed in Shanghai, China on the 16th June, 1864. Formerly known as the Tuscan Lodge, our name changed to Shanghai Tuscan Lodge upon transferring to London in 1955.  We hope you find the pages on our website interesting, they contain information about the Lodge and its history.

Where We Meet

If you are already a Freemason you would be welcomed as a joining member, or if you would simply like to attend a meeting as a visitor just Email our Secretary . We are a small and friendly Lodge, and you will always receive a warm welcome.

Why join

Freemasonry is about sharing a common desire for charitable support and following a high moral code. It is a male-only society, focused on following the three core principles of brotherly love, relief and truth, as well as improving oneself and others. Our society is open to men of any race, religion, political belief and status.

Lodge Meeting Dates

The Shanghai Tuscan Lodge, No 1027 regular meetings are held at Freemasons Hall, Great Queen Street, London WC2, in the late afternoon on the 2nd Wednesday of February, October, the 4th Monday in November and 4th Wednesday of May (when the new Master in Installed).

Tamworth Lodge Chooses Renewal Over Retreat

Four years ago, Tamworth Lodge was on the verge of surrendering its warrant. On Friday 6th February, on the exact day marking 96 years since its Consecration, the Lodge met at the Croydon & District Masonic Centre to conduct a double Third Degree ceremony and, in the same meeting, present certificates to seventeen trained Mental Wellbeing Ambassadors. The contrast between then and now speaks to a deliberate and sustained period of renewal.
